Our Story
Duane and Denise Parris married in 1999 in Guyana, where they built a life together in both business and ministry. In 2002, they left everything familiar behind and migrated to the United Kingdom, carrying that same partnership — in work, in faith, and in marriage — into a new country and a new season.
More than two decades later, that partnership is still the engine behind everything they build together — including Cleave.
What We Believe
Cleave exists because Duane and Denise believe marriage is exactly what Scripture says it is: a covenant between one man and one woman, for life. Genesis 2:24 doesn't leave room to negotiate that — “a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife”— and neither do they. Every devotional, every question, and every tool in this app is built on that conviction, without apology and without compromise.
Duane Parris
Duane is a cybersecurity specialist by trade, and an ordained, itinerant minister by calling. He leads Sagacity Prophetic Company, carrying a prophetic ministry to churches and believers beyond the walls of any one congregation. That same eye for both rigour and revelation — protecting systems, and shepherding people — shapes how Cleave is built and cared for, from how seriously we take your privacy and your data to the Scripture and content it carries, which he and Denise are both responsible for.
Denise Parris
Denise wears a good many hats. She works in finance, is a certified Health and Wellness Coach, Nutritional Therapist, and Life Coach, and serves in pastoral care at their home church, New Life Church Crouch Valley in Wickford, Essex.
She is also the hands behind Cleave itself as its developer, bringing its design and technical build to life — its Scripture and its questions are written and shaped by her and Duane together. Coaching people toward wholeness, caring for a congregation, and building software all meet in the calling this app comes from.
Cleave & Sagacity Network
Duane and Denise are the directors of Sagacity Network, the company they lead together. Cleave is part of the Sagacity Network family — one expression, among others, of the same conviction: that faith and everyday life were never meant to be kept apart.
